No Sound from Speakers - How to Fix

Why There's No Sound

No audio output can be caused by many factors:

  • Volume is muted or set to zero
  • Wrong output device selected
  • Speakers/headphones not connected properly
  • Audio drivers missing or corrupted
  • Browser tab muted
  • Hardware issue with speakers

Quick Fix

  1. Check volume - Make sure it's not muted (click speaker icon)
  2. Check physical connections - Cables, Bluetooth pairing
  3. Check browser tab - Look for muted speaker icon on tab
  4. Try another app - Play a YouTube video to test
  5. Restart browser or computer

Windows Solutions

Check Volume Mixer

  1. Right-click the speaker icon in taskbar
  2. Click "Open Volume Mixer"
  3. Make sure your browser volume isn't at zero or muted
  4. Check that the master volume is up

Select Correct Output Device

  1. Right-click speaker icon → "Sound settings"
  2. Under "Output", select your speakers or headphones
  3. Click the device and check volume level

Run Audio Troubleshooter
