What It Tests
Volume
We check signal level. Optimal: -18 to -12 dB. Too quiet — others won't hear you. Too loud — distortions.
Background Noise
We analyze noise during pauses. Good: almost silence. Bad: fans, traffic, people nearby interfere.
Clipping
We check for overload (distortions at peaks). If frequent — reduce microphone volume.
Stability
We analyze how the microphone behaves throughout the test. Volume spikes are a problem.

Test showed low score. What to do?
Read the "Problems and Solutions" section above. First try simple steps: close windows, turn off fan, move closer to microphone. If it doesn't help — the microphone might be broken.
Can I improve laptop microphone?
Built-in laptop microphone is usually low quality. We recommend buying a USB microphone or headphones with microphone. This gives 80% improvement.
Does the test work on mobile?
Yes, but with limitations. Smartphones have built-in microphone, often headset. The test works, but full check is better done with USB microphone on computer.
